[ARCHIVED] Parts of Clear Creek Trail will be closing for fire mitigation work & invasive species removal

Parts of Clear Creek Trail will be closing in October and November for fire mitigation work & invasive species removal in partnership with the Mile High Youth Corps.

Please take note of the following closures and detours:

All closures will be held 7am-5pm Monday-Thursday, with the exception of no closure on Monday 10/9 and a 7am-5pm closure on Friday 10/13. 

• 10/2-10/5/2023: 44th Ave to Garrison St. will be closed with detour along the 44th Ave south sidewalk to Garrison St. 

• 10/10-10/13 and 10/16-10/19: Garrison St. to Kipling St. East trailhead will be closed with detour along Garrison St., 44th Ave, and Kipling

*Note that 10/10-10/13 is a Tues-Friday due to the federal holiday on Monday 10/9. 

• 10/23-10/26: Kipling St West trailhead to Moore Bridge will be closed with detour to the Miller St. trailhead (and W. 41st Ave) and to Moore St./W. 43rd Ave

• 10/30-11/9: Moore Bridge to Prospect Park will be closed with detour to Moore St/W 43rd Ave and 44th Ave via Prospect Park's interior roads

These closures are essential for maintaining visitor safety during forestry operations. Dense vegetation, dead material, and invasive species are being removed from the Greenbelt. By reducing over-crowding and excess forest fuels, this project will mitigate the threat of wildfire, improve wildlife habitat, and restore an ecological balance in this area.
