Drop off your Christmas trees for FREE at park locations in Wheat Ridge. Trees are chipped into mulch that is used in planter beds and around trees in City parks!

From December 26th, 2021 - January 31st, 2022 you can drop off your Christmas trees for FREE at various locations throughout Wheat Ridge.

Please remove all ornamentation, tree stands, twine, lights, and garland. Yard waste and other debris will not be accepted.

This year looks a little different due to our Prospect Park closure. Drop-off sites are open daily from sunrise until sunset for Wheat Ridge residents at the following park locations:

  1. East Parking Lot of Panorama park, by the baseball field

  2. Northeast Lot of Anderson Park, just to the left as you pull into the park

Trees are chipped into mulch that is used in planter beds and around trees in City parks. Free mulch will be available at Baugh House Property at 44th and Robb (across from Prospect Park) until Prospect Park reopens after February 28th, 2022. Last year, more than 1,800 Christmas trees were recycled into mulch!

This service is available to individual residents only and may not be used for disposal of trees sold by area vendors.
