Wheat Ridge Parks & Recreation welcomes you back! We are implementing a phased approach to reopening certain facilities and amenities that complies with the current state and federal recommendations and adheres to strict safety protocols for both patrons and staff. The phased safe return plan includes reduced facility capacities, limiting gatherings, enforcing social distancing guidelines, enhancing cleaning and sanitization efforts, using PPE and more.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility, as your safety and health remain our top priority.

Anderson Building & Pool

  • Anderson Pool is CLOSED for the 2020 summer season.
  • Rentals at the Anderson Building are available for small groups of 10 or less. For more info and availability, contact Mackey Power at or 303-205-7567

Parks, Trails & Open Spaces

Picnic Pavilions/Shelters
Capacity at all park pavilions is currently limited to 50% of our normal capacity. To make a reservation, call the Recreation Center at 303-231-1300. For more info on locations and rates, visit

PlaygroundsOPENMax capacity of 25 kids on the equipment at a time. Bring hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes to protect you and your family.
Basketball CourtsOPENMax capacity of 4 per court.
Tennis CourtsOPENMax capacity of 2 people per court. Singles play only.
Soccer/Multipurpose FieldsOPENGroups of 25 or less for recreational athletics and field rentals. Spectators are permitted for youth sports, but must stay 6 feet apart. Spectators are discouraged for adult sport actitivites. All athletic programs must maintain participation records in case a disease outbreak occurs and an investigation is required.
Baseball/Softball FieldsAVAILABLE TO RENT
Youth and adult softball fields are available to rent through mid-August at the following parks: Creekside Park, Randall Park, Prospect Park. For more info, contact Jim Spaulding at or visit

Clear CreekOPENFishing, gold panning, and other “creekside” activity are now permitted. Limit group size to 10 or fewer. Non-medical face masks are strongly encouraged unless wearing them would be detrimental to your health.

  • If you are sick, do not visit parks and public areas.
  • When visiting parks and trails, continue to practice social distancing as much as possible.
  • Use hand sanitizer when hand washing is unavailable.
  • Do not gather/congregate in groups.
  • Bring your own drinking water.
