On July 23, the active adult hiking group ventured into the Indian Peaks Wilderness from the Brainard Lake Recreation Area. They hiked through forest and moist meadows dotted with wildflowers to enjoy the quiet of Mitchell Lake at 10,525 feet. Then they proceeded to hike an additional 1.5 miles toward Blue Lake, as low-lying clouds defined our view. The group could hear the waterfall at the south end of Blue Lake, smell the trees and herbs, but could not see much! It was a beautiful scene nonetheless and a positively memorable experience! Check out upcoming hikes in the Fall Guide.
